The Growth of Festivals
Music festivals have been growing into some of the most popular events to attend. As these numbers swells many of these events have to started to gross more income than regular venues. With the popularity of festivals growing more and more people are wanting to see what the fuss is all about while also being to have a good time and get the full experience. While many people end up figuring out the little tricks that make the experience all the better, for those of you who want a little warning about how best to avoid the most common mistakes, this hub is built towards you. Packing
When it comes to travel in general, packing ends up being one of the areas were many people end up struggling and in many cases they end up misplacing or losing some the stuff that they end up bringing. This is even more true when you are basically camping out at a multi-day party. It is important to keep in mind that this is not a normal camping trip. The amount of equipment that you would normally lug out is generally not needed at these kind of events. You want to show up with the bare amount of things that you are going to need. Not only is this going to make it easier to get to your campsite and break it down at the end of the concert, but you are also going to have less things that you are going to have to keep track off.
When it comes to what you should pack, less is more. A change of clothes, a tent and a bedroll should be enough to help your survive the weekend. If you are going by yourself you might also want to pack a small camping stove to help you save money during the event (more on that below). If you think you are going to need more than that you should see about joining up with a group of people to make things much easier.

Saving Money
When it comes to travel of any kind, being able to save money is always on the top of the list. Festivals like many other places that you are going to be visiting can end up become very pricey very quick. This doesn't mean that there are not ways that you can save money on things that you want, you just have to know what to avoid and what to look for. In many of the random places at these events you tend to find the best or most unique deals that you are going to be able to find. There are many different ways that you can get what you are looking for without having to worry about going broke by the end of the event
What to Avoid
Like many places that expect to see a high level of visitors, there are many places that have places that are on the high side to take advantage of this additional level of traffic. When it comes to festivals normally this ends up being the vendors that have set up booths at these events. While you can find good deals at these kind of places, normally the goods or services are being raised with a price tag that is much higher than the original cost. To avoid having to pay this price tag many festivals offer a very creative, and often delicious alternative to the normal booths.
These has been a long standing tradition of people attending festivals supporting themselves using different ventures. One of the more common of these ventures is food. If you are hungry walking around where the campsites tend to be more often than not will bring you to some with a grill who is selling food at a very low price. Most of the time the food that is being grilled at campsites ends up being better than the high priced booths that are located closer to the stage. Also if you're really lucky you'll get food given to you by someone who doesn't want to take it with them when they are living.
Food isn't the only thing that the camp sites tend to give you a better deal on. Any of the items that you see in a booth, chances are there is a similar product being sold somewhere within the campsites. You just have take a look around and it will show itself. Half the fun of going about saving money this way is that the search ends up leading to make new friends which makes the fun of the over all weekend increase more.
Remember There Are More Than Just Music Festivals That You Can Go To
Tickets
Concerts in general have been going up in price, in some case triple the cost of what they use to be. With these raising costs for many you find themselves on a tight budget or not wanting to pay to full over bloated price there are a few different ways that you can get into the festival with out having to get yourself in trouble for something like sneaking in. Most of these ideas are pretty strait forward and have a long running history with these kind of events. The method that you should go with all depends on what you are willing and able to do.
Many festivals offer tickets in exchange for volunteering to help run and maintain the show. Hosting a festival is a very large undertaking and requires a team of dedicated people to make sure that it ends up working without anything falling apart. Many times when you volunteer you are going to find yourself having to do job such as parking cars or having to pick up trash during the weekend. You might even end up getting a job that requires you to clean certain parts of the grounds. Most of the time its easy work that needs to be done and the host doesn't want to put one of the more experienced staffers on a low ranking job.
When you volunteer for an event it is important that you not only work hard to keep the concert host happy but that you also fully understand what you volunteer responsibilities really are. If there is a job that for what ever reason you really can't or don't want to do, you will want to make sure that you sort that out before you start working your shift. It will just make everyone's life simpler that way.
If all else fails you might get lucky and end up getting miracled into a show. This is when someone kicks you down a ticket for the show free of charge. This is a long standing tradition with many festivals as there have been many people who have found themselves wanting to get into the show and for whatever reason couldn't get themselves a ticket. If you do end up getting miracled in you are going to have to return the favor but helping someone else get into a show who was in the same boat as you where.
Final Thoughts
As with any travel experience you are going to always want to make sure that you are able to develop a proper budget for the trip without dropping you funds into the negative. Festivals like anywhere else that you are going to visit is full of different things that can end up taking your money in no time. By knowing where to look for the best deals and the traditions that go with these kind of events, you can make sure that you can keep visiting the concerts that you want without going bust.
